Ikan Dencis Bumbu Kuning Cabe Rawit Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Ikan dencis 500 g
Daun prei To taste
Garam To taste
Spice Paste
Bawang merah (red onion) 5 cloves
Bawang putih (garlic) 3 cloves
Kemiri (candlenuts) About 3 nuts
Kunyit (turmeric) A pinch (end of your finger)
Jahe (ginger) A pinch
Additional Ingredients
Cabe rawit (bird’s eye chili) To taste
Tomat (tomato) ½, diced

Instructions

  1. Begin by cleaning and gutting the ikan dencis thoroughly, then rinse well under cold water.
  2. Heat a sufficient amount of oil in a pan until it reaches a high temperature, ideal for deep frying. Carefully fry the fish until golden brown and crispy, ensuring they don’t stick to the pan.
  3. In a blender, combine the bawang merah, bawang putih, kemiri, and jahe to create a smooth spice paste.
  4. Slice the cabe rawit in half and dice the tomat into small cubes.
  5. In a separate pan, sauté the spice paste until fragrant and fully cooked, releasing its aromatic flavors.
  6. Add the sliced cabe rawit and diced tomat to the pan, stirring to incorporate.
  7. Season lightly with garam and do not add sugar; add a splash of water to create a sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  8. Once the spice mixture is well combined, gently add the fried ikan dencis, ensuring each piece is coated in the flavorful sauce.
  9. Finally, sprinkle the dish with fresh irisan daun prei for added aroma and color.
  10. Your Ikan Dencis Bumbu Kuning Cabe Rawit is now ready to be served, delighting your taste buds with a harmonious blend of spices!

This dish is perfect for a family gathering or as a delightful meal to impress your guests, showcasing the rich flavors of Indonesian cuisine. Enjoy!
