- 1/4 teaspoon coriander (ketumbar)
- 1 teaspoon salt (garam)
- 1/2 piece of palm sugar or 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 lemongrass stalk (serai)
- 1 bay leaf (daun salam)
- 1 piece of galangal (laos)
- 7 bird’s eye chilies (cabai rawit)
- 3 large red chilies (cabai merah besar)
- 5 candlenuts (kemiri)
- Oil for sautéing

- In a pot, bring a small amount of water to a boil with a pinch of salt and a splash of lime juice.
- Add the fish roe and cook for 15 minutes until firm.
