Ikan Kembung Balado: A Flavorful Indonesian Delight

Ingredients:

  • 6 shallots (bawang merah)
  • 4 garlic cloves (bawang putih)

  • 2 teaspoons salt (garam)
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar (gula pasir)
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper (lada bubuk)
  • Water (air), as needed
  • 1 1/2 lime (jeruk nipis)
  • 1/2 red tomato (tomat merah)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish: Start by cleaning the mackerel thoroughly. Rub the fish with the juice of 1 lime and a pinch of salt. Let it marinate for 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse. After marinating, fry the fish until it is crispy and golden brown. Set aside.
