Red Chilli Thecha

Description:
Red Chilli Thecha is a popular chutney from Maharashtra, made in almost every home. This chutney uses fresh red chilies and traditional spices. You can also use dry red chilies, but they must first be soaked in warm water.

Ingredients:

  • 15 Fresh Red Chilies, chopped
  • 15 Garlic Cloves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai/Kadugu)
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Salt, to taste

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Instructions:

  1. To make Red Chilli Thecha, first blend the red chilies, garlic, and salt in a blender until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a tempering pan. Add mustard seeds and let them cook for 10 seconds.
  3. Add asafoetida (hing) and cook for another 20 seconds. Then, pour this tempering into the chili mixture.
  4. Mix well and serve hot.

Serve Red Chilli Thecha with Khandeśhi Dal, Bhakri, and Boondi Raita for a delicious meal.
