Spicy Green Bean Stir-Fry with Pickled Tuna

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams baby green beans
  • 2-3 slices pickled tuna (thinly sliced)
  • 4 red bird’s eye chilies
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Salt, to taste
  • Seasoning, to taste
  • A splash of water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Green Beans: Begin by trimming the ends of the baby green beans and cutting them into your preferred size. Rinse them thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt.

  2. Slice the Aromatics: Thinly slice the shallots, garlic cloves, and red bird’s eye chilies.

  3. Sauté the Aromatics: Heat a pan over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the sliced shallots, garlic, and chilies. Sauté until they release their fragrant aroma and the shallots turn translucent.

  4. Add the Pickled Tuna: Introduce the thinly sliced pickled tuna to the pan. Stir well to combine with the aromatic mixture, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  5. Incorporate the Green Beans: Add the baby green beans to the pan, mixing everything thoroughly. Season with salt and your preferred seasoning. Pour in a splash of water to help cook the beans and create a bit of steam. Allow the mixture to cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender yet crisp.

  6. Finish and Serve: Once the green beans are cooked and the flavors have melded, remove from heat. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy immediately as a flavorful side dish or light main course.

This dish offers a delightful blend of spicy, savory, and tangy notes, making it a perfect complement to any meal.
