Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg chicken liver (hati ayam)
- 15 red bird’s eye chilies (cabai rawit merah)
- 5 shallots (bawang merah)
- 2 large cloves garlic (bawang putih besar)
- 1 thumb-sized piece of galangal (lengkuas)
- 2 bunches of basil leaves (daun kemangi)
- Salt to taste (secukupnya garam)
- Cooking oil (secukupnya minyak goreng)
- Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) to taste (secukupnya)

Prepare the Chicken Liver: Begin by slicing the chicken liver into two pieces each. Heat some oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the liver pieces until they are half-cooked. Once done, remove them from the pan and drain on paper towels.
