Stir-Fried Cabbage with Beef

Ingredients:

Main Ingredients:

  • 3/4 kg cabbage (cabbage)
  • 1/4 kg beef

Stir-Fry Seasoning:

  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 5 shallots
  • 7 small chili peppers
  • 10 red chili peppers
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 finger-length piece of galangal
  • Palm sugar to taste
  • 2 stalks of petai (stink beans)
  • Seasoning (I use Royco)
  • Salt to taste
  • Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Thinly slice the cabbage and set aside. Cut the beef into small cubes. Slice the garlic, shallots, and chili peppers finely.

  2. Sautรฉ the Seasoning: Heat a bit of oil in a pan and sautรฉ the sliced garlic, shallots, small chili peppers, and red chili peppers along with the bay leaves and galangal until fragrant and golden brown.

  3. Cook the Beef: Add the cubed beef to the pan. Season with salt and the seasoning mix. Stir well and cover the pan. Cook until the beef is partially cooked.

  4. Add Cabbage: Stir in the cabbage. Cook until the cabbage is tender and the beef is fully cooked. If necessary, add a bit of water to help soften the cabbage and blend the flavors.

  5. Final Touches: Add palm sugar and sweet soy sauce to taste. Adjust seasoning if needed.

  6. Serve: Once the cabbage and beef are well-cooked and the flavors are well combined, serve hot.
