Instructions
-
Preparation: Begin by cutting the tempe and tahu into small cubes. Heat oil in a pan and fry the cubes until they are half-cooked, then drain and set aside.
-
Chopping: Thinly slice the red shallots, garlic, bird’s eye chili, and red bell pepper, preparing them for sautéing.
-
Sautéing: In a hot pan, add the sliced shallots and garlic. Sauté until fragrant, then add the bird’s eye chili and red bell pepper. Cook until they soften and release their flavors.
-
Combining Ingredients: Add the fried tempe and tahu to the pan. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients.
-
Seasoning: Sprinkle in the salt, sugar, and sweet soy sauce. Stir well to coat the tempe and tahu evenly with the seasoning.
-
Simmering: If the mixture appears dry, add a little water to help the flavors meld. Cook until all the spices are well absorbed.
-
Serving: Serve your Oseng Tahu Tempe hot, ideally alongside warm steamed rice. Enjoy this delightful dish!
Happy cooking!
