Asem Pedas Daging Sapi Yummy
Ingredients
- 150 grams of beef
- 7 shallots
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 10 bird’s eye chilies
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 piece of galangal (approx. 1 inch), bruised
- 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
- Salt, seasoning, and Royco (Indonesian seasoning) to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. Boil the beef until it becomes tender.
- Prepare the Aromatics: Thinly slice the shallots and garlic. Cut the bird’s eye chilies into three parts each. Bruise the galangal.
- Combine Ingredients: Once the beef is tender, add the sliced shallots, garlic, chilies, bruised galangal, bay leaf, and tamarind paste to the pot.
- Add Vegetables (Optional): Feel free to add any vegetables you have available in your refrigerator. For this recipe, I added a diced block of tempeh and some long beans cut into pieces.
- Season and Simmer: Add salt, seasoning, and Royco to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference. Let it simmer until all the flavors are well combined.
- Serve: Once done, remove from heat and serve hot.
