Instructions
- Cut the tofu into 16 pieces, sprinkle with salt, or soak in salt water for about 20 minutes to allow the salt to penetrate.
- Finely chop the garlic, and slice the red and green chilies, and green onion; set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and multi-purpose seasoning flour. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and optional seasoning, mixing until well combined.
- Coat each piece of tofu with the flour mixture and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels. Repeat until all tofu is fried.
- Sauté the chopped garlic in a pan until fragrant, then add the red and green chilies, cooking until the garlic turns golden brown. Stir in the green onions and a pinch of salt, cooking briefly before turning off the heat.
- Add the fried tofu to the pan, tossing gently to mix with the garlic and chilies. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve.
Optional Addition: For added flavor, you can incorporate fried chicken skin and meat. This is a great way to use leftover chicken in your fridge! Enjoy your Tahu Cabe Garem!
