  • 10 green bird’s eye chilies (sliced)
  • 10 red bird’s eye chilies (sliced)

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced chilies, shallots, garlic, and lemongrass. Season with sugar and salt according to your taste preferences.

  2. Heat the Oil: Pour the hot vegetable oil over the mixture in the bowl. Stir gently until the shallots become translucent and softened.

  3. Combine with Tuna: Add the shredded tuna and basil leaves to the bowl. Mix well to ensure the tuna is evenly coated with the sambal.

  4. Add Final Touches: Squeeze the juice of the lime over the sambal mixture. Adjust seasoning with soy sauce to your liking and give it a final stir.

  5. Serve: Your Sambal Matah with Tuna is now ready to be served. Enjoy this flavorful dish with your favorite sides or as a topping!

Feel free to experiment with the levels of sugar, salt, and soy sauce to suit your taste. This sambal is perfect as a spicy accompaniment to a variety of dishes or as a stand-alone treat! 😊
