  • 2 cups fresh spinach (bayam), washed and roughly chopped
  • 1 cup corn (jagung), sliced
  • 1 cup tempeh, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup tongkol (skipjack tuna), cut into chunks
  • 2 shallots (bawang merah), thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic (bawang putih), minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: a splash of soy sauce or coconut milk for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aromatics:
    Begin by thinly slicing the shallots and mincing the garlic. In a medium pot, bring water to a boil. Add the sliced shallots and minced garlic to the boiling water, allowing them to cook for a few minutes until they become fragrant and slightly tender.

  2. Cook the Corn:
    While the aromatics are cooking, slice the corn into bite-sized pieces. Add the corn to the pot and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the corn is tender but still crisp.

    Add the chopped spinach to the pot, stirring until it begins to wilt. This should take about 2 minutes. The spinach should be just wilted but still vibrant and fresh.

  5. Season and Serve:
