Ingredients:
- 3 1/4 cups flour
- 3 3/4 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup water
- 6 tbsp applesauce
- 1/2 cup eggs (approximately 3 eggs)
- 6 tbsp raisins
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 banana (for decoration)
Instructions:

Prepare the Batter:
- Sift together flour, 2 1/4 cups sugar, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and spices in a large mixer bowl.

Mix Wet Ingredients:
- Add shortening, 6 tablespoons of orange juice, water, and applesauce; beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.

- Add eggs; beat for an additional 2 minutes.
