Tahu Pentol Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 pieces of tofu (about 300g)
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 200g tapioca flour
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 packet of flavor enhancer (optional)
  • Cooking oil, for frying
  • Warm water, as needed

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Begin by slicing the tofu into thin pieces. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu slices until they are crispy and dry. Remove from oil and set aside.

  2. Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, tapioca flour, salt, ground pepper, and minced garlic. Mix well. Gradually add warm water to the mixture, a little at a time, until the dough reaches a consistency similar to donut batter. The mixture should be thick but manageable.

  3. Stuff the Tofu: Carefully make a slit in each piece of fried tofu, being careful not to cut all the way through. Stuff each tofu slice with the prepared dough mixture.

  4. Steam the Tofu: Place the stuffed tofu in a steamer and steam for approximately 20 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through and firm.

  5. Serve: Once steamed, serve the Tahu Pentol with your favorite dipping sauce for added flavor.

Enjoy this delicious Indonesian-style tofu snack, perfect for a savory treat or as an accompaniment to your meals!
