-
Wagyu Steak:
- 2 pieces of Wagyu beef steak (pre-cut)
- 1/2 tablespoon black or white pepper
- 1/4 tablespoon coriander
- Salt, to taste
-
Steak Sauce:
- 4 cloves garlic
- Pepper, coriander, candlenuts, to taste
- Red chili peppers, to taste
- 2 shallots
- Brown sugar, to taste
- Sesame oil, fish sauce, oyster sauce (optional substitutes for MSG)
- Chopped onion
Steps:
-
Marinate the Steak:
- Rub the Wagyu steaks, which should be at room temperature, with black or white pepper, coriander, and salt. Let the steaks marinate for at least 30 minutes.
-
Cook the Steak:
- Heat a small amount of oil (preferably corn oil, olive oil, or sesame oil) in a skillet over low heat.
- Place the steaks in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on one side without flipping frequently.
- Turn the steak over and cook for another 5 minutes or until the desired level of doneness is reached.
-
Prepare the Steak Sauce:
- Blend the garlic, pepper, coriander, candlenuts, red chili peppers, shallots, and brown sugar into a smooth paste.
- Sauté the chopped onion in a little oil until translucent, then add the blended spice mixture.
- Adjust the consistency of the sauce with water to your preference, and don’t forget to season with salt. If the sauce is too thin, thicken it with cornstarch.
-
Serve:
- Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked Wagyu steaks.
- Garnish with your choice of steamed vegetables such as corn, carrots, green beans, or mushrooms.
