Coriander (Dhania) Leaves 3 tablespoons, finely chopped
Lemon Juice 1 teaspoon

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Servings: 4-5

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Begin by preparing all the ingredients. Make sure everything is chopped, measured, and ready for assembly.

  2. Cook the Peanuts:
To cook the peanuts, add the raw moongphali (peanuts) into a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water and a pinch of salt. Cook for a couple of whistles. Once the cooker has cooled down and the pressure is released, open the lid and strain the peanuts. Let them cool completely before using them in the bhel.

  3. Boil the Potatoes:
Similarly, add the potatoes to the pressure cooker with 1 cup of water. Pressure cook for about 3-4 whistles, then allow the pressure to release naturally. Peel and dice the boiled potatoes. Set them aside and let them cool completely.

  4. Mix the Sukha Bhel:
In a large mixing bowl, add the puffed rice, chopped onion, chopped tomato, diced boiled potatoes, green chilli, and mustard oil. Sprinkle in the red chilli powder, chaat masala powder, and lemon juice. Season with black salt (or regular salt) to taste. Mix everything together gently but thoroughly, ensuring all the ingredients are well-coated with the spices and oil.

  5. Assemble and Serve:
Divide the mixed bhel into individual serving bowls. Top each bowl with the cooled boiled peanuts and sprinkle with fresh coriander leaves. This adds a lovely freshness and color to the dish.

  6. Serve Immediately:
Serve the Sukha Bhel Recipe with Boiled Peanuts right away, garnished with extra coriander if desired. It pairs wonderfully with a Spiced Chutney Sandwich and a hot cup of Masala Chai, making it the perfect evening snack. Alternatively, pack it in your snack box to enjoy at work or take it on the go!

Serving Suggestions:

  • Spiced Chutney Sandwich: A great accompaniment to Sukha Bhel, offering a delightful balance of flavors.
  • Masala Chai: The warm, aromatic chai complements the crunch and spice of the bhel perfectly.
