Hot Diaphoretic Herbal Tea Recipe

To your Health! For those of you feeling a cold coming on. This tea is to help sweat out a cold. Sweating procedure Drink a cup or more of hot diaphoretic herbal tea, take a bath or hot shower then drink more tea,then cover in blankets and sweat. Avoid sweets,salty foods,dairy,eggs,and other mucus forming foods. Drink a 1/2 cup tea 2-4 times a day between meals. At times I throw a lemon cut in half in while simmering.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 ginger root
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lemon (cut in half)
  • 1 tsp fennel seed
  • 1 tsp red cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • 2 quarts water

Instructions:

  1. In a glass, ceramic, or enamel-coated pot, place ginger root, fresh parsley, fresh mint leaves, fennel seed, lemon halves, and red cayenne pepper (if using).

  2. Cover the ingredients with 2 quarts of water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer covered for 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.

  4. Strain the tea as you pour each cup, leaving the herbs, roots, and seeds in the pot to give off all they can in terms of flavor and benefits.

  5. As you enjoy the tea, replace the water in the pot, bring it to a boil, then shut off the heat, keeping it covered.

  6. Season each cup to taste with freshly squeezed lemon juice and raw honey, adding a touch of sweetness and brightness to the herbal infusion.

  7. Sit back, inhale the steam while you sip on the comforting and rejuvenating hot diaphoretic herbal tea.
