Sapi Sukiyaki Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg beef (cut into finger-sized pieces with medium texture)
  • Seasonings:
    • 1 medium onion (sliced thinly)
    • 15 grams white pepper
    • 30 grams butter
    • 80 ml sweet soy sauce
    • 60 ml tomato sauce
    • 30 ml spicy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 9 grams flavor enhancer (optional)
  • Garnishes:
    • 1 green bell pepper
    • 1 red bell pepper
    • 1 small pineapple

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Cut the beef into pieces approximately the size of a child’s pinky finger. Thinly slice the onion.
  2. Season the Beef:

    • In a large bowl, combine the beef pieces with all the seasonings: white pepper, butter, sweet soy sauce, tomato sauce, spicy sauce, oyster sauce, and flavor enhancer if using. Ensure that each piece of beef is well-coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Massage the Beef:

    • Gently massage the seasonings into the beef to ensure even distribution. Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Cook the Beef:

    • Heat a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the seasoned beef and onions to the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  5. Simmer:

    • Continue cooking until the sauce has thickened and the beef is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Prepare the Garnishes:

    • While the beef is cooking, slice the bell peppers and pineapple into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Serve:

    • Once the beef is cooked and the sauce has reduced to your liking, garnish the dish with the sliced bell peppers and pineapple.
  8. Enjoy:

    • Serve the Sapi Sukiyaki hot and enjoy the rich flavors.

Notes:

  • Adjust the level of spiciness to your taste by varying the amount of spicy sauce.
  • For a complete meal, serve with steamed rice or noodles.
