Ingredients
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Tempe | 2 packets |
| Tahu | 2 packets |
| Daun Salam | 3 leaves |
| Gula Merah | 250 g |
| Garam | 1 tsp |
| Gula Pasir | 1 tbsp |
| Bawang Merah | 3 cloves |
| Ketumbar | 3 tsp |
| Kecap Manis | 2 tbsp |
| Water | 1 liter |
Instructions
- Begin by washing the tofu (tahu) and tempe thoroughly, then cut them into your desired shapes.
- Slice the shallots (bawang merah) or mash them finely along with the coriander (ketumbar).
- In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil, then add the sliced shallots, daun salam, gula merah, gula pasir, ketumbar, garam, tofu, and tempe.
- Stir well while gradually adding the kecap manis, allowing the flavors to blend beautifully. Cook until the water has absorbed into the tofu and tempe.
- Once the seasonings have fully infused, remove from heat and drain the excess liquid.
- You can serve the Tahu Tempe Bacem in two delightful ways: either enjoy it immediately as is, or fry it for a crispy finish.
