Ikan Bawal Asam Manis Recipe

Ikan bawal (bawal fish) 1 whole
Bawang bombay (onion) 1/2, sliced
Bawang merah (red onion) 2, sliced
Bawang putih (garlic) 4, sliced
Cabe merah (red chili) 5, chopped
Cabe hijau (green chili) 3, chopped
Jahe (ginger) 2 cm, sliced
Saus tomat (ketchup) 1 tbsp
Tomat (tomato) 2, sliced
Gula (sugar) 1/2 tbsp
Garam (salt) To taste
Daun bawang (spring onion) 1 stalk, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Rub the bawal fish with lime juice and let it marinate for about 15 minutes. After marinating, heat oil in a pan and fry the fish until golden brown. Set aside.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, sauté the sliced bawang bombay, bawang merah, and bawang putih until fragrant. Then, add the chopped cabe merah, cabe hijau, and jahe, stirring well to combine.

  3. Add Tomatoes and Seasoning: Introduce the sliced tomat to the pan. Add a little water, followed by salt and sugar. Mix in the chopped daun bawang and stir thoroughly.

  4. Combine and Serve: Gently add the fried ikan bawal back into the pan, tossing briefly until the fish is coated with the flavorful sauce. Serve hot and enjoy this delightful dish!
