Sweet and Spicy Black Pepper Beef

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams thinly sliced beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
  • 5 large green chilies, diagonally sliced
  • 1 packet Saori oyster sauce
  • 1 packet Kecap Bango (sweet soy sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Water, as needed for cooking
  • Salt, pepper, and seasoning to taste
  • Oil for sautéing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Rinse the beef thoroughly and marinate it with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 tablespoon sesame oil. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Sauté Aromatics:

    • Heat a generous amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and crushed garlic. Sauté until fragrant and the onions turn translucent.
  3. Cook the Chilies:

    • Add the green chilies to the pan and continue to sauté for another minute.
  4. Add the Beef:

    • Introduce the marinated beef slices to the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef changes color and starts to brown.
  5. Simmer:

    • Pour in enough water to cover the beef partially. Stir well to combine. Let it cook until the beef is halfway done.
  6. Season and Flavor:

    • Add the Kecap Bango, oyster sauce, salt, seasoning, and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly and allow the dish to cook until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Final Touches:

    • Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Once the beef is cooked through and the flavors are well combined, remove from heat.
  8. Serve:

    • Serve hot with steamed rice for a satisfying meal.

Enjoy this sweet and spicy black pepper beef, and happy cooking! 😊
