Sweet and Spicy Ayam Kremes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 packet ayam kremes seasoning mix
  • 5 small hot chilies (bird’s eye chilies)
  • 4 large red chilies
  • 10 shallots
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 stalk green onion
  • Palm sugar, sliced thinly, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Clean the chicken breast and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Dip the chicken pieces into the beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with the ayam kremes seasoning mix. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the coated chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy. Drain excess oil on paper towels.

  2. Prepare the Vegetables and Aromatics: Slice the shallots, garlic, and red chilies thinly. Chop the tomato. Smash the ginger with the flat side of a knife. Slice the carrot into thin strips and chop the green onion.

  3. Make the Sauce: In a pan, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Sauté the sliced shallots, garlic, and chilies until fragrant. Add the chopped tomato and palm sugar, cooking until the sugar melts and the tomato softens. Add the carrot strips and stir-fry until the carrot is slightly tender.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Pour in a bit of water and stir in the chili sauce. Dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of water and add it to the pan, stirring until the sauce thickens. Add the green onion and cook for an additional minute.

  5. Serve: Spoon the sauce over the fried chicken pieces. Serve immediately and enjoy your Sweet and Spicy Ayam Kremes!
