Crispy Gurame Fillet with Sweet and Spicy Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces crispy gurame fillet (pre-fried and coated with flour)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Seasoning (optional)
  • Water, as needed
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (for sautéing)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Gurame Fillet: Place the crispy gurame fillet on a small plate. (I used pre-fried and flour-coated fillets from the supermarket to save time and effort.)

  2. Mince the Garlic: Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.

  3. Heat the Oil: In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil over medium heat. This small amount of oil will help avoid an overly greasy dish.

  4. Sauté the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until it becomes fragrant.

  5. Create the Sauce: Add a splash of water to the pan. Stir in the chili sauce and teriyaki sauce. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.

  6. Season: Season with salt and optional seasoning to taste.

  7. Combine with Gurame: Add the prepared gurame fillet to the pan. Stir gently to coat the fillets with the sauce and ensure they are heated through.

  8. Serve: Your Sweet and Spicy Crispy Gurame Fillet is now ready to be served. This dish is perfect for 2-3 people and pairs wonderfully with steamed rice.
