Sweet and Spicy Beef (Daging Sapi Pedas Manis)
Ingredients:
- 500 grams beef
- 1 onion
Seasoning:
- 5 large bird’s eye chilies
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 bay leaves
- Sweet soy sauce to taste (I used Bangau brand)
- 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce (Saori brand)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 pack of ground black pepper (Ladaku brand)
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- Water as needed

Prepare the Beef:
- Start by boiling the beef until tender, approximately 30 minutes. Once boiled, thinly slice the beef and lightly pound it to ensure it becomes even more tender when cooked.

Prepare the Seasonings:
- Slice the chilies, garlic, and onion. Make sure all the seasonings are ready before you start cooking.

Cooking Process:
- Heat some cooking oil mixed with margarine in a pan.
- Add the sliced chilies, garlic, and onion into the pan. Sauté until the aroma is fragrant.
- Add the sliced beef into the pan and stir well to combine with the sautéed seasonings.
- Pour in the sweet soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. Stir again to ensure the beef is well-coated with the sauces.
- Add water, salt, ground black pepper, and sugar to the pan. Stir to combine.
- Allow the beef to cook until the water reduces and the beef is tender.

- Check the taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and the beef is fully cooked.
