Sweet and Sour Tuna for Toddlers

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 pound fresh tuna
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 small tomato
  • 2 stalks green onions
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • A pinch of white pepper (optional, for mild flavor)
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • 250 ml water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Slice the onion, garlic, and tomato. Chop the green onions into small pieces.

  2. Sautรฉ the Aromatics: Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic and sautรฉ until fragrant. Then, add the onion and tomato. Cook until the vegetables are softened and aromatic.

  3. Cook the Tuna: Add the fresh tuna to the pan. Pour in 250 ml of water. Stir to combine.

  4. Season the Dish: Add the ketchup, oyster sauce, and sweet soy sauce to the pan. Season with a pinch of white pepper (if using), salt, and sugar to taste. Stir well.

  5. Finish and Serve: Add the chopped green onions to the pan. Cook for an additional minute, then remove from heat.

  6. Serve: Transfer the dish to a serving plate and serve warm.
