Semur Daging Tahu Telur

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of ground beef
  • 1 block of Chinese tofu, cut into cubes and fried until half-cooked
  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 5 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 candlenut (kemiri), crushed
  • 300 ml water
  • Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Mushroom broth powder (kaldu jamur), to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Shape the mixture into small meatballs.

  2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the meatballs in the hot oil until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.

  3. In a separate pan, sauté the finely chopped shallots, minced garlic, and crushed candlenut until they are fragrant and lightly golden.

  4. Add the fried meatballs to the pan with the sautéed aromatics. Stir well to combine.

  5. Add the fried tofu cubes to the pan and mix gently.

  6. Pour in the water and add the hard-boiled eggs. Stir to combine.

  7. Add sweet soy sauce to taste, adjusting the amount according to your preference.

  8. Season with additional salt, black pepper, and mushroom broth powder as needed. Stir well and let the mixture simmer until the sauce is well absorbed and the flavors meld together.

  9. Once the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are fully cooked, remove from heat.

  10. Serve hot, garnished with additional herbs or green onions if desired. Enjoy your delicious Semur Daging Tahu Telur!
