Semur Tahu Telor (Indonesian Braised Tofu and Egg)

Ingredients:

  • 3 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1/2 block of tofu, sliced thickly and partially fried
  • For the Sauce:
    • 2 cloves garlic
    • 4 shallots, finely ground
    • Ground black pepper, to taste
    • Sugar, to taste
    • Salt, to taste
    • Seasoning powder, to taste
    • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
    • Water, as needed
    • Fried shallots, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Make the Sauce:

    • Stir in the sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), seasoning powder (rajarasa), black pepper, sugar, and salt. Adjust the flavor with water to your liking and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Combine and Cook:

    • Once the sauce is well-balanced, add the hard-boiled eggs and fried tofu to the pan. Allow the ingredients to cook together for about 5 minutes, so that the flavors meld and the tofu absorbs the sauce.
  4. Garnish and Serve:

    • Remove from heat and sprinkle with fried shallots for added texture and flavor. Serve hot.
