Stir-Fried Tofu and Egg with Oyster Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 block of tofu, cut into cubes
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon oyster sauce (Saori)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) to taste
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions:
- Begin by cutting the tofu into bite-sized cubes. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg with a pinch of salt. Pour the beaten egg into the hot butter and cook, stirring occasionally, to make a soft omelet that is halfway set. Remove the omelet from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the oyster sauce and sweet soy sauce to taste. Stir to combine with the melted butter.
- Add the tofu cubes to the pan and cook, stirring gently, until the tofu is heated through and coated with the sauce.
- Return the partially cooked omelet to the pan, breaking it into pieces as you add it. Stir everything together to ensure the tofu and omelet are well combined and heated through.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and add a splash of water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra sweet soy sauce if desired.
Enjoy this flavorful and easy stir-fry as a satisfying meal or a delightful side dish!
