Tempe Chicken Gordon Bleu

Ingredients:

Ingredient Amount
Chicken breast (diced) 1/4 kg
Tempe (diced) 1/4 kg
Onion (chopped) 1 medium-sized
Garlic (crushed) 3 cloves
Black pepper To taste
Chicken bouillon cube 1 pack
Mozzarella cheese As needed (for stuffing)
Margarine 1 tablespoon
Eggs (for mixture) 2 eggs
All-purpose flour For coating
Bread crumbs (panko) For coating
Eggs (for outer layer) 2 eggs (beaten)
Salt To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
In a pan, melt 1 tablespoon of margarine and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until fragrant. Once aromatic, transfer them into a blender. Add the diced chicken, tempeh, black pepper, chicken bouillon cube, eggs, and salt to the blender. Blend everything until you form a smooth, uniform mixture.

  2. Shape the Patties:
Divide the mixture into portions and form them into patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty, then stuff with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese.

  3. Coating the Patties:
On a clean plate, set up three separate stations: one with flour, one with the beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Using your right hand, dredge the patties in the flour and then dip them in the egg mixture. With your left hand, coat the patties with breadcrumbs. This technique helps keep your hands cleaner and prevents the coating from clumping.

  4. Frying:
Heat a small amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the patties until golden brown on both sides, but be careful not to overcrowd the pan. A gentle fry will prevent them from falling apart.

  5. Baking:
Once the patties are fried, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the patties on a baking sheet and bake them for 30 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and the cheese inside is melted and gooey.

Tips:

  • For better coating: Use your right hand for the flour and breadcrumbs, and your left hand for dipping in the egg mixture. This makes the process smoother and cleaner.

  • Avoid frying with too much oil: Fry the patties in just a little oil to keep them from falling apart. The oven will finish the cooking process and help crisp them up.

Enjoy this delicious Tempe Chicken Gordon Bleu with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal!
