Beef Stir-Fry in Oyster Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg beef (preferably tender cuts)
  • 3 large green chilies
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 packet Saori Oyster Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Bango sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon white or black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Flavor enhancer (optional)
  • Water
  • Cooking oil for sautéing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef: Start by cleaning the beef thoroughly. Slice it thinly, cutting diagonally against the grain of the meat. This method ensures that the beef will be tender and flavorful.

  2. Prepare the Aromatics: Crush the garlic cloves with the side of a knife, then finely chop them along with the shallots. For the green chilies, slice them lengthwise, remove the seeds, and then finely chop them into thin strips. If you prefer extra heat, add a small piece of bird’s eye chili to the mix.

  3. Sauté the Aromatics: Heat a small amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and shallots. Sauté until they release a fragrant aroma. If available, adding a bit of sliced onion can enhance the flavor further.

  4. Cook the Chilies: Add the chopped green chilies to the pan. Sauté for a few minutes until the chilies are slightly softened.

  5. Add the Beef: Incorporate the sliced beef into the pan. Stir continuously to ensure the beef absorbs the flavors of the garlic, shallots, and chilies. Cook until the beef changes color.

  6. Simmer: Pour in approximately 2 cups of water, making sure it covers the beef. Stir well and allow it to simmer. Adjust the heat to maintain a gentle simmer, and let it cook until the beef becomes tender.

  7. Season the Dish: Once the beef is tender and the aroma is delightful, add the Saori Oyster Sauce and Bango sweet soy sauce. Stir to combine. Season with salt, sugar, and optional flavor enhancer to taste.

  8. Thicken the Sauce: Dissolve the cornstarch in a small amount of water and add it to the pan. Stir well to thicken the sauce. Let it cook for a few more minutes until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.

  9. Serve: Your Beef Stir-Fry in Oyster Sauce is now ready to be enjoyed. Serve it hot alongside steaming white rice.

Enjoy this savory and flavorful dish that’s perfect for a satisfying meal. Happy cooking!
