Tahu Telur Puyuh with Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

Quail eggs, boiled 10 pieces
Tofu, cut to preference 3 pieces
Garlic, minced 2 cloves
Onion, chopped 1/4 onion
Ground pepper 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili, sliced 1 piece
Green chili, sliced 2 pieces
Sweet soy sauce 1 tablespoon
Teriyaki sauce 1/2 tablespoon
Granulated sugar to taste
Salt to taste
Oil as needed
Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Begin by mincing the garlic and chopping the onion finely. In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant.

  2. Add the sliced red and green chilies to the skillet, cooking until they soften and release their aroma.

  3. Gently incorporate the tofu cubes and the boiled quail eggs into the skillet. Pour in the teriyaki sauce, sweet soy sauce, ground pepper, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  4. Add enough water to ensure the mixture is well-coated but not too soupy. Allow it to cook until the liquid reduces and the flavors meld together, stirring occasionally.

  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary. Once the sauce has thickened and the tofu and eggs are well-glazed, remove from heat and serve warm.
