Thai Style Paneer Toast Recipe

This Thai Style Paneer Toast is a delightful fusion of Thai and Indian flavors. Traditionally, Thai toast uses minced pork, but in this version, we’ve incorporated paneer, India’s beloved homemade cottage cheese, to add a creamy and flavorful twist. The toast offers a perfect balance of savory, spicy, and aromatic flavors, making it an ideal choice for a healthy breakfast or an energizing snack. It’s simple to make, and its exotic taste will transport your senses straight to Thailand.

Ingredients:

For the Toast:

Ingredient Quantity
Whole Wheat Brown Bread 8 slices
Whole Egg 1
Paneer (Homemade Cottage Cheese) 1 cup (crumbled)
Salt To taste

Ingredients to Grind:

Ingredient Quantity
Soy sauce 1 teaspoon
Coriander (Dhania) Leaves 5 sprigs
Green Chilli 1
Garlic 5 cloves
Coriander (Dhania) Seeds 1 teaspoon
Whole Black Peppercorns 1 teaspoon

For Garnishing:

Ingredient Quantity
Sesame Seeds (Til seeds) 1 teaspoon
Fresh Red Chillies 1 (sliced)
Coriander (Dhania) Leaves 1 sprig

Instructions:

  1. Grind the Ingredients: Start by grinding the soy sauce, coriander leaves, green chili, garlic, coriander seeds, and black peppercorns into a coarse mixture. Set aside one teaspoon of this ground mixture for later use in the egg batter.

  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, beat the whole egg and mix in the reserved teaspoon of the ground spice mixture. Beat well to combine.

  3. Assemble the Toast: Cut the whole wheat bread slices diagonally to create two triangles per slice. Spread the crumbled paneer generously on top of each slice.

  4. Cook the Toast: Heat a flat tawa or griddle and drizzle some oil over it. Dip each bread slice, paneer side up, into the egg mixture and gently place it on the tawa. Cook for about 2 minutes on the paneer side.

  5. Flip and Cook: After 2 minutes, carefully flip the toast onto the other side and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the bread to turn golden and crisp.

  6. Garnish: Once cooked, remove the toast from the tawa and sprinkle with sesame seeds, sliced red chilies, and fresh coriander leaves for an added touch of flavor and color.

  7. Serve: Enjoy your Thai Style Paneer Toast hot and fresh, paired with a refreshing bowl of fruits and a glass of Cantaloupe Pomegranate and Mint Juice for a wholesome breakfast or snack.
