Orange and Mango Tart Recipe

Instructions

1. Prepare the Tart Crust (Frolla):
Start by preparing the shortcrust pastry. Sift the flour into a large bowl, then add the grated zest of half a lemon. Cut the butter into small cubes and add it to the mixture. Begin working the ingredients together with your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2. Add Eggs and Form the Dough:
Add the eggs to the mixture and continue mixing until a dough begins to form. Once the dough is smooth, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow it to rest and firm up.

3. Preheat Oven and Prepare the Tart Pan:
While the dough rests, preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a 20 cm tart pan with butter and line it with the prepared dough. Press the dough into the base and sides of the pan, trimming any excess dough from the edges. Use a fork to prick the base of the tart to prevent air bubbles from forming during baking.

4. Blind Bake the Tart Shell:
Place the tart shell in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Once baked, remove the tart shell from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack.

5. Prepare the Mango:
While the tart shell cools, peel the mango and cut it into thin slices. Arrange the mango slices inside the tart, starting from the outer edge and working your way inward, creating a beautiful, layered rose pattern with the fruit.

6. Add the Orange Marmalade and Gelatin:
Once the mango is arranged, gently heat the orange marmalade in a small saucepan until it becomes more fluid. Pour the marmalade over the mango slices, ensuring an even coating. To finish, dissolve the gelatin according to the package instructions and brush it over the surface of the fruit to give it a shiny, smooth finish.

7. Serve and Enjoy:
Allow the tart to set for a few hours before serving. Slice, serve, and enjoy the refreshing combination of citrus and tropical flavors in every bite. Perfect for any occasion!
