Beef Ramen Two Ways: Keto-Friendly and Classic

Indulge in a delightful bowl of Beef Ramen with a twist! Whether you’re following a keto diet or prefer the classic version, this recipe has you covered. Enjoy the savory broth, tender beef slices, and the perfect balance of flavors in both variations. Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

For Both Versions:

  • 200 grams of beef slices (approximately, as I sliced it myself)
  • 500 ml water (approximate)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • Broth powder to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Chili powder (I used b*ncabe level 30)
  • Himalayan salt to taste
  • 1/2 packet of Stevia
  • 2 boiled eggs, halved
  • White sesame seeds for garnish
  • Nori, cut for garnish (I ran out, but it’s optional)

For the Classic Version:

  • 1 pack of instant noodles

For the Keto-Friendly Version:

  • 1/2 pack of shirataki noodles

Optional Garnish:

  • White part of green onions (omit for the induction phase of keto)

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics:

    • In a pot, heat some oil and sauté the minced garlic, sliced onion, and julienned ginger until they are soft and fragrant.
  2. Cook the Beef:

    • Add the beef slices to the pot and cook until they change color. Add a small amount of water to help soften the beef.
  3. Prepare the Broth:

    • Once the beef is tender, pour in the 500 ml of water. Bring to a boil and check the tenderness of the beef. If it’s not tender enough and the water has reduced, you can add more water as needed.
    • Add the fish sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, broth powder, black pepper, chili powder, Himalayan salt, and Stevia. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  4. Prepare the Noodles:

    • For the Classic Version: Cook the instant noodles according to the package instructions and set aside.
    • For the Keto-Friendly Version: Drain the shirataki noodles from their packaging, rinse with hot water, and drain again. Set aside.
  5. Assemble the Ramen:

    • Place both types of noodles in separate bowls. Ladle the hot broth over the noodles.
    • Arrange the beef slices and boiled egg halves on top.
    • Garnish with white sesame seeds, green onions, and nori.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Your Beef Ramen, prepared in both keto-friendly and classic styles, is ready to be enjoyed. Bon appétit! 😊

This versatile recipe allows you to cater to different dietary preferences while delivering a rich and satisfying bowl of ramen. The combination of flavors from the fish sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and spices ensures a delicious meal that will warm your soul. Whether you’re embracing a low-carb lifestyle or sticking to traditional comforts, this Beef Ramen recipe is sure to become a favorite. Happy cooking!
