Traditional Caesar Salad Recipe

Description:
Nothing beats the original, and this is it. It takes a while to prepare, but it’s sooooo worth it! Add cooked chicken breast, shrimp, or beef to make a full meal. Don’t forget to pass extra anchovies!
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3 garlic cloves (for dressing)
- Salt, to taste
- 4 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 anchovy fillets
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 eggs, coddled
- 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 heads romaine lettuce
Instructions:
Step | Description |

1 | In a small saucepan, heat butter, olive oil, and 2 cloves of minced garlic from the top of the recipe. |
2 | When the butter is melted, remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes. |
3 | Remove the garlic, toss bread cubes with the butter mixture. |
4 | Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F, shaking the pan once or twice, until the croutons are golden brown (about 10 minutes). Set aside. |
5 | In a large wooden salad bowl, rub a clove of garlic around the inside of the bowl for flavor. |
6 | Mash together the remaining 3 cloves of garlic and 1/2 tsp salt until they form a paste. |
7 | Whisk in lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. |
8 | Mash anchovy fillets in a small bowl until they form a paste, then add to the garlic mixture and whisk well. |
9 | Add 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil in a slow, steady stream, whisking constantly. |
10 | Add the coddled eggs and whisk until blended. |
11 | Tear the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and add to the dressing along with the croutons. Toss until coated with dressing. |
12 | Sprinkle on parmesan cheese and toss lightly. |
13 | Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Traditional Caesar Salad! |
