Double Cheeseburger Recipe

Category: Main Course
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Ground Beef (beef patties) 800g
Cheddar Cheese 8 slices
Carrots 100g
Cabbage (shredded) 100g
Mayonnaise 2 tablespoons
Ketchup 1 tablespoon
Worcestershire Sauce To taste
Ripe Tomatoes 2
Jalapeno Peppers 8
Baby Spinach Leaves To taste
Extra Virgin Olive Oil To taste
Salt To taste
Black Pepper To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Slaw:

    • Start by preparing the slaw for the double cheeseburger. Wash the cabbage, remove the central stem, and use a mandoline to finely shred the cabbage into thin strips.
    • Peel and trim the carrots, then grate them using a coarse grater.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of ketchup. Add the shredded cabbage and grated carrots to the bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Form the Beef Patties:

    • Take the ground beef and divide it into 8 equal portions by hand. Gently form each portion into a patty, making sure that each burger holds its shape during cooking.
    • Season both sides of the patties with salt and black pepper.
  3. Cook the Patties:

    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Place the patties in the skillet, seasoning the side facing up with salt and pepper.
    • Cook the first side of the patties for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Flip the patties over and immediately place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid and lower the heat to medium.
    • Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted and the patties are cooked through.
  4. Toast the Burger Buns:

    • In the same skillet, quickly toast the cut sides of the burger buns for a minute or so, just until they are golden and slightly crisp.
  5. Assemble the Double Cheeseburger:

    • Start by placing the bottom half of the toasted bun on each plate. Add a layer of the cabbage and carrot slaw.
    • Stack one beef patty on top of the slaw, followed by another patty with melted cheddar cheese.
    • Top with a couple of slices of pickled jalapeno peppers and a few fresh baby spinach leaves for extra flavor and crunch.
    • Finish with the top half of the burger bun.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Your double cheeseburgers are now ready to serve! Pair them with your favorite side dish or enjoy them as they are for a satisfying, flavorful meal.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, try adding a few slices of ripe tomato or a drizzle of BBQ sauce on top of the slaw.
  • Don’t be afraid to adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer jalapenos based on your taste.

This Double Cheeseburger is a crowd-pleasing, satisfying meal that’s perfect for family dinners, cookouts, or a casual weeknight. With its deliciously juicy beef patties, melted cheddar, and tangy slaw, it’s sure to become a new favorite!
