Description

It’s funny how I stumbled upon this delightful Grape Almond Bread Pudding recipe. The other day, I was contemplating what unique dessert to make for Valentine’s Day this year instead of the usual chocolate cake. I was in a dilemma until this evening when a huge gift box arrived from Auntie Nez (Chef Inez Willenborg on Zaar). Inside, there was a crumpled piece of newspaper, which I normally would have tossed aside. However, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to open it, only to find this gem of a recipe! This dessert looks and tastes wonderful, especially when topped with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of maple syrup. You can enjoy it warm, at room temperature, or even chilled. Whether you top it off with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of maple syrup, this dessert is bound to win you over. I hope you enjoy this delightful treat!

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. Toast the Bread Cubes: Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until they are lightly toasted. This will give your bread pudding a wonderful texture.
  3. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs one at a time until they are well blended.
  4. Add the Sugar: Gradually add the sugar to the beaten eggs and cream them together until the mixture is smooth and pale.
  5. Spice It Up: Mix in the ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon for that lovely warm spice flavor.
  6. Combine the Dairy: Pour in the milk, half-and-half, and vanilla essence into the egg mixture. Stir well to combine.
  7. Mix in the Bread and Grapes: Add the toasted bread cubes and the green seedless grapes into the mixture. Stir gently to ensure that the bread cubes are well coated with the egg mixture and the grapes are evenly distributed.
  8. Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly butter a 2-quart baking dish to prevent sticking and transfer the bread mixture into the dish.
  9. Top It Off: Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the top of the pudding and drizzle the melted butter over the almonds. This will give the pudding a lovely, crunchy topping.
  10. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Serve: Serve the bread pudding warm for the best experience. However, it can also be enjoyed at room temperature or chilled. Top it with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of maple syrup as desired.

Note

If you prefer, you can substitute the 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of half-and-half with 2 cups of either milk or half-and-half, depending on your preference for richness.

Enjoy this delightful Grape Almond Bread Pudding with your loved ones and create sweet memories together! πŸ‡πŸžβœ¨
