Ingredients:

For the Patty:

  • 250 grams ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 20 ml plain/UHT milk
  • 2/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Beef broth (optional, can be skipped)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or olive oil
  • Butter or margarine (for cooking)

For the Burger:

  • 4 burger buns
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion (optional)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce (as needed)
  • Ketchup, hot sauce, mayonnaise (as needed)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Patty Mixture:
    In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, egg white, bread crumbs, milk, salt, black pepper, and ground nutmeg. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated. Adjust the salt to taste if needed.

  2. Shape and Store Patties:
    Form the mixture into round, flat patties according to your preferred size and thickness. You should get about 4 patties from this recipe. If you are not cooking them immediately, wrap each patty individually in plastic wrap and freeze. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 months.

  3. Cook the Patties:

    • Pan-Frying Method: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or margarine. Cook the patties until they are browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes on each side. Avoid flipping them multiple times to maintain a juicy texture.
