Homemade Beef Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 6 grams active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or 40 grams butter
  • 15 grams powdered milk
  • 150 ml warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • Toppings:
    • Ready-made Bolognese sauce
    • Smoked beef
    • Beef sausage
    • Thinly sliced onion
    • Cheddar cheese
    • Mozzarella cheese
    • Mayonnaise
    • Tomato sauce

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    In a small bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and a bit of warm water. Stir and let it sit for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy. This indicates that the yeast is active and ready to use.

  2. Prepare the Dough:
    In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, powdered milk, and the activated yeast mixture. Crack in the egg and mix until the dough starts to come together. Knead the dough until it is halfway smooth. Gradually add the olive oil or butter and continue kneading until the dough is smooth and elastic. Add the salt and knead again until well incorporated and the dough is no longer sticky.

  3. First Rise:
    Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.

  4. Prepare the Dough for Baking:
    Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Transfer the dough to a greased pizza pan or baking sheet. Gently press and stretch the dough to fit the pan. Use a fork to prick the surface of the dough to prevent large bubbles from forming during baking. Allow the dough to rest for another 10 minutes.

  5. Add the Toppings:
    Spread a generous layer of ready-made Bolognese sauce over the dough. Arrange slices of smoked beef and beef sausage on top. Sprinkle with thinly sliced onion. Add a mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Feel free to customize with additional toppings such as bell peppers, mushrooms, or pepperoni according to your preferences.

  6. Bake the Pizza:
    Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Bake the pizza for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Finishing Touches:
    Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Drizzle with a little mayonnaise and tomato sauce if desired. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
