Instructions
-
Prepare the Shallots and Meat:
Start by finely chopping the shallots. In the meantime, take a large bowl and add the ground beef. Incorporate the finely chopped shallots into the meat mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. -
Form the Burger Patties:
Divide the seasoned meat mixture into 4 equal portions. Using a spoon, place each portion into a ring mold (about 2 cm high and 10.5 cm wide). Press down gently with the back of the spoon to form compact burger patties. Once shaped, cover the patties and refrigerate them to firm up for about 30 minutes. -
Prepare the Toppings:
While the patties are chilling, prepare the burger toppings. Slice the burger buns in half. Thinly slice the tomatoes and cut the pickled gherkins lengthwise into thin strips. If youโre using larger pickles, slice them into smaller pieces. Thinly slice the red onions and set them aside. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. -
Cook the Burgers:
Remove the patties from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature. Preheat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil. Once the pan is hot, add the burger patties and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on one side. Flip the burgers and cook for another 4 minutes. When the burgers are almost cooked to your liking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty, allowing it to melt. -
Toast the Buns:
While the burgers finish cooking, place the burger buns on a separate pan with the cut side facing down. Toast them for about 20 seconds until golden and crispy. -
Assemble the Cheeseburgers:
To assemble, spread a generous amount of ketchup on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer the lettuce leaves on top, followed by the cheeseburger patty. Add slices of tomato, pickled gherkins, and red onion to your taste. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the ingredients to complete the burger. -
Serve:
Serve the cheeseburgers immediately while theyโre still hot and the cheese is perfectly melted. Enjoy your homemade cheeseburgers with your favorite side dishes!
