1 Green bell pepper
2 cups Beef broth

1 can (15 oz) Tomato sauce

2 tbsp Cider vinegar
1 tbsp Yellow mustard
1-2 tbsp Chili powder
1 tsp Paprika
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Seasoning salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper
6-8 Hamburger buns
Optional Drained black beans
To taste Garlic powder
To taste Butter
Optional Grated cheddar cheese

Instructions:

  1. Crock Pot/Slow Cooker Method:

    • In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onions, garlic, celery, green pepper, and optional chili flakes until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
    • Add beef broth, water, tomato sauce, ketchup (or BBQ sauce), brown sugar, cider vinegar, mustard, chili powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, black pepper, and optional drained black beans. Mix well and bring to a simmer.
    • Transfer the mixture to a crockpot or slow cooker and cook on HIGH for about 4 hours.
  2. Stove Top Method:

    • Proceed with the same method as above, omitting the flour. Cook the complete recipe in a Dutch oven over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 1 hour. The longer it cooks, the thicker it will be.
  3. Serving:

    • Spoon about 1/2 cup of the meat mixture onto each hamburger bun.
    • Top with grated cheddar cheese if desired.
