Description:

Got this from an old friend and my kids love this for a quick after school snack. Cut into small bars because it is very rich.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 cups butter
  • 5 cups cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step Description
1 In a heavy saucepan, heat sugar and corn syrup until the sugar completely dissolves.
2 Stir in peanut butter and mix well until smooth and creamy.
3 Add cereal to the peanut butter mixture and stir until well combined.
4 Immediately spread the mixture into a greased jelly roll pan, ensuring an even layer.
5 Melt chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth, stirring at intervals.
6 Spread the melted chocolate over the top of the bars, covering evenly.
7 Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill until the bars are set, typically for about 1 hour.
8 Once set, remove the pan from the refrigerator and cut the bars into small squares using a sharp knife.
9 Store the peanut butter squares in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
