Super Bowl Nachos Recipe

Description:
My favorite team will probably not be in the Super Bowl, but we’ll enjoy these nachos nonetheless. The garnishes listed are just a suggestion; use your imagination! Obviously, beer is the best beverage to go along with this treat!
Ingredients:
- 8 cups tortilla chips
- 1/2 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb chorizo sausage
- 1 onion
- Salt, to taste
- 1 can whole green chilies
- 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2-3 avocados
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup pitted ripe olives
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
Instructions:

Prepare Meat Mixture:
- Crumble beef and sausage into a wide frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add onion and cook, stirring to break up meat, until meat is lightly browned.
- Spoon off excess fat; season to taste with salt and hot pepper seasoning.

Layer and Bake:
- Spread beans in a shallow 10×15-inch baking pan or oven-proof dish.
- Top evenly with the cooked meat mixture.
- Sprinkle with whole green chilies and shredded cheeses.
- Drizzle with taco sauce.
- Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) oven for 20-25 minutes or until very hot throughout.

Prepare Garnishes:
- Meanwhile, prepare garnishes of your choice, such as chopping avocados, green onions, olives, and cilantro.

Assemble and Serve:
- Remove the pan from the oven and quickly garnish the hot nachos, mounding avocado and sour cream in the center, and adding other garnishes as desired.
- Quickly tuck tortilla chips around the edges of the bean mixture.
- Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Keep Warm (Optional):
- If desired, keep the platter of nachos hot on an electric warming tray to maintain their delicious warmth.
