Detailed Instructions:

  1. Trim Fat on Brisket:

    • Begin by trimming any excess fat from the beef brisket. This helps ensure a leaner end result.
  2. Soak Brisket:

    • Place the brisket in a large container and cover it with water. Let it soak for 30 minutes. This step helps tenderize the meat.
  3. Drain:

    • After soaking, drain the water from the brisket and pat it dry with paper towels.
  4. Season Brisket:

    • Sprinkle kosher salt evenly over the brisket and allow it to sit for another 30 minutes. This helps enhance the flavor of the meat.
  5. Rinse:

    • Rinse the brisket thoroughly under cold water to remove excess salt.
  6. Braise Brisket:

    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the brisket and brown it on all sides, about 8 minutes per side.
  7. Add Onions:

    • Reduce the heat to medium and add sliced onions to the skillet. Continue cooking until the onions are caramelized and golden brown.
  8. Add Garlic:

    • Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly.
  9. Remove Meat:

    • Once the onions and garlic are fragrant and tender, remove the brisket from the skillet and set it aside.
  10. Prepare Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, combine ketchup, water, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, black pepper, and red chili powder. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  11. Simmer Brisket:

    • Return the brisket to the skillet, making sure it’s fully submerged in the sauce. Cover the skillet and simmer over low heat for approximately 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
  12. Reduce Sauce:

    • Once the brisket is cooked to perfection, remove it from the skillet and set it aside to rest. Increase the heat to medium-high and simmer the sauce uncovered until it thickens and reduces to your desired consistency.
  13. Serve:

    • Slice the brisket against the grain and serve it with the delicious sauce spooned over the top. Enjoy your mouthwatering masterpiece!

Tips:

  • For an extra kick of flavor, try adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • Serve the brisket alongside mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or your favorite side dishes for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer-term storage.

Indulge in the rich flavors of this amazing beef brisket recipe, and savor every tender, juicy bite! It’s guaranteed to become a family favorite and a go-to dish for any occasion.
