- 1/2 tsp White Urad Dal

- Few Curry Leaves

To make Vepampoo Rice, start by soaking the black rice for 6 to 8 hours. After soaking, rinse the rice well and cook it in a pressure cooker with enough water. Close the cooker and cook until 6 whistles are heard. Let the pressure release naturally, then set the rice aside.

In a separate pan, heat oil (or ghee) over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the asafoetida, dry red chili, urad dal, and neem flowers. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes until the neem flowers are cooked and aromatic.

Add the cooked black rice to the pan with the neem mixture and mix well. After about a minute, add salt and cook for another 2 minutes.
