In a medium-sized pot, combine the red wine, freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, whole cloves, cinnamon stick, water, and lemon slices. If desired, add pineapple chunks or rings for extra flavor.
-
Place the pot over medium heat and allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer. Be cautious not to bring it to a rolling boil.
-
Once the mixture is simmering, reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer gently for about 30 to 40 minutes. This allows all the flavors to meld together beautifully.
-
As the mulled wine simmers, your kitchen will be filled with delightful aromas, perfect for cozy winter evenings.
-
After simmering, remove the pot from the heat. Using a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain out the fruit, cloves, and cinnamon stick from the mulled wine. This ensures a smooth and aromatic beverage.
-
Now, your Lazy Winter Mulled Wine is ready to be served! Pour it into mugs or heatproof glasses, garnish with a cinnamon stick or lemon slice if desired, and enjoy its warm, comforting flavors.
-
This mulled wine is perfect for sipping by the fireside on chilly winter nights, or for sharing with friends and family during festive gatherings.

Feel free to adjust the sweetness or spice level to suit your taste preferences. You can also experiment with different types of citrus fruits or additional spices for a unique twist.
