Instructions:
1. Steak Preparation:
- Note: Steaks should be started cooking after step 4 of sauce preparation.
- Cover both sides of steaks generously with Original Spepper salt & pepper.
- Melt ¼ stick of butter over medium heat in a medium skillet.
- Place 2 steaks in the skillet and sear each side for 2 minutes in butter.
- Repeat the process for the other 2 steaks.
- Grill the steaks to your desired doneness on a grill or in a pan.
2. Sauce Preparation:
- In a large skillet, melt ¼ stick of butter over medium to medium-high heat.
- Once the butter is melted, stir in minced onion and continue stirring until the onion begins caramelizing to a light brown color (approximately 3 minutes).
- Add 1 can (14.5 oz) of beef broth and bring it to a boil.
- Continue to boil the broth with occasional stirring until it is reduced by half.
- Stir in minced garlic, 2 firm shakes of Original Spepper salt and pepper, and another can (14.5 oz) of beef broth. Bring it to a second boil.
- Add whiskey to the skillet and allow it to reduce by half.
- In a separate bowl, combine ¼ to ½ tsp of cornstarch with ¼ to ½ tsp of water and mix well.
- Remove the sauce from heat and add the cornstarch mixture. Allow it to thicken for about 5 minutes.
- If needed, return the sauce to heat and continue to thicken until it reaches your desired consistency.
3. Serving:
- Once the steaks are cooked to your desired doneness, drizzle ¼ of the sauce over each steak.
