Butter 2/4 stick
Cornstarch 1/4 – 1/2 tsp
Original Spepper salt & pepper as needed

Instructions:

1. Steak Preparation:

  • Note: Steaks should be started cooking after step 4 of sauce preparation.
  1. Cover both sides of steaks generously with Original Spepper salt & pepper.
  2. Melt ¼ stick of butter over medium heat in a medium skillet.
  3. Place 2 steaks in the skillet and sear each side for 2 minutes in butter.
  4. Repeat the process for the other 2 steaks.
  5. Grill the steaks to your desired doneness on a grill or in a pan.

2. Sauce Preparation:

  1. In a large skillet, melt ¼ stick of butter over medium to medium-high heat.
  2. Once the butter is melted, stir in minced onion and continue stirring until the onion begins caramelizing to a light brown color (approximately 3 minutes).
  3. Add 1 can (14.5 oz) of beef broth and bring it to a boil.
  4. Continue to boil the broth with occasional stirring until it is reduced by half.

  6. Add whiskey to the skillet and allow it to reduce by half.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine ¼ to ½ tsp of cornstarch with ¼ to ½ tsp of water and mix well.
  8. Remove the sauce from heat and add the cornstarch mixture. Allow it to thicken for about 5 minutes.
  9. If needed, return the sauce to heat and continue to thicken until it reaches your desired consistency.
