Beef Fajitas Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams beef sirloin
  • 3 bell peppers (various colors), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Salt, sugar, and black pepper, to taste
  • Tortillas or kebab wraps

Marinade for Beef:

  1. Slice the beef sirloin into strips about 2-3 cm thick. There’s no need to cut them into smaller pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, lime juice, ground cumin, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce (if using), salt, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well to create the marinade.
  3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours; the longer, the better. For convenience, you can also freeze the marinated beef and defrost it when ready to cook.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Vegetables:

    • Slice the bell peppers and onion. Mix them with a portion of the marinade to infuse some flavor. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef:

    • Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a hot skillet or frying pan.
    • Add the marinated beef strips and cook over high heat until browned and cooked through. This should take just a few minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thinner strips.
  3. Cook the Vegetables:

    • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary and sauté the bell peppers and onions until they are tender and slightly caramelized, adding the remaining marinade as you cook.
  4. Assemble the Fajitas:

    • Warm the tortillas or kebab wraps according to package instructions.
    • To assemble, place a layer of shredded lettuce on each tortilla. Top with cooked beef strips and sautéed vegetables.
  5. Serve and Enjoy:
