Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your cake pans by lining them with wax paper and greasing and flouring them lightly.

  2. Prepare the Cake Batter: Follow the instructions on the cake mix box to prepare the batter. Once prepared, divide the batter equally into two separate bowls.

  3. Add Gelatin: Into one bowl of batter, add the lime gelatin, and into the other bowl, add the lemon gelatin. Stir each batter thoroughly until the gelatin is fully incorporated.

  4. Pour Batter into Pans: Pour each flavored batter into its prepared cake pan. Spread the batter evenly to ensure uniform layers.

  5. Bake: Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of each cake comes out clean.

  6. Cool the Cakes: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 15 minutes. Then, carefully remove them from the pans and transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
