Salmon Steaks with Vegetable Medley and Savory Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon steaks
  • 1 lime
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 small head of broccoli
  • 1 cup ready-made bolognese sauce
  • Sweet soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Black pepper
  • Sugar
  • Salt

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Salmon:
    Begin by marinating the salmon steaks with the juice of one lime, finely chopped garlic, and a pinch of salt. Let them sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. Prepare the Vegetables:

    • Slice the potatoes into wedges.
    • Wash and cut the broccoli into florets and peel and slice the carrots.
    • Boil the potatoes, broccoli, and carrots separately until tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Carrots:
    In a pan, sauté the finely chopped onions until fragrant. Add the boiled carrots, seasoning with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well and set aside.

  4. Fry the Potatoes:
    Fry the potato wedges in hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

  5. Prepare the Sauce:
    In a separate pan, sauté minced garlic until aromatic. Add the bolognese sauce, a splash of sweet soy sauce, and a dash of black pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

  6. Grill the Salmon:
    Prepare a basting mixture using black pepper, sweet soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle and grill the salmon steaks. When they are halfway cooked, brush them with the basting mixture and continue grilling until fully cooked.

  7. Assemble and Serve:
    Arrange the cooked salmon steaks and vegetable medley on plates. Drizzle with the savory bolognese sauce and serve immediately.
